Lectures

On May 15th at 7 pm writer Tom Rea explores the history of Martin's Cove using historical and contemporary photographs to address the questions of who owns the past and how we preserve a balance between public and religious rights.  this event is co-sponsor3ed with the Fremont County Library in conjunction with the Wyoming Humanities Council.  This will be held at the Rebekah Hall, 321 Main Street in Lander, Wyoming.

June 19th at 7pm, Lynne Swanson presents a first-person characterization of Nellie Nielson, a "Rosie the Riveter" still living today in Cheyenne.  Her story illuminates many changes for women during the World War II era, as well as the long-term impact of the war on American society.  This will be held at the Rebekah Hall, 321 Main Street in Lander, Wyoming.

July 24 at 7 pm, Chavawn Kelly, public relations specialist at the Western Research Institute, uses early photographs to tell the story of sharp Nose, a prominent Plains Military Leader and "The Last Northern Arapaho Chief".  This will be located in the Pioneer Museum at 1443 Main Street.

August 21 at 7 pm, Mary Humstone uses images of historic schools around the state to explore the fate of older school buildings under recently-enacted school facilities laws.  Co-sponsored with the Fremont County Library in conjunction with the Wyoming Humanities Council. This will be located in the Pioneer Museum at 1443 Main Street.
