ABOUT MAW Our Stories Pioneer Village Native Americans Pioneer Museum

Native Americans of the Central Plains and Rockies
Some of the early officers of the Pioneer Association who helped develop the Pioneer Museum were of Native American origin. These individuals, and some white colleagues, worked to ensure that all the cultures who called this area home would be represented in the old museum.
Each summer a small tepee village is erected near our performance arena. During the summer, weekly powwow dance demonstrations take place in this performance arena. See the calendar for dates
